"We recognize that as a result of your involvement with WoTLK Gold that you are involved in the development, distribution and hosting of 'emulated server software (hereafter"Infringing Service")," ),'"", the notice reads. "Among other things, [these] Infringing Services allow users to play altered and/or illegitimate copies of WoW online [without] the need for a legitimately-purchased copy or subscription."
ArsTechnica provides additional information on the letter in which they clarify that "Blizzard has never authorized and, in reality, expressly prohibits the forgoing activity."
It continu"Our client's copyrights are highly valuable and Blizzard takes this matter very seriously. As you will see, your conduct causes grave and irreparable damage to the worth and integrity of our client's products as well as intellectual property."
In an accompanying post, which now replaces the Felmyst forum and website, Gummy52 said the server was the culmination of four years of effort. He also mentioned that a muscular dystrophy issue prevents him from making the move to another country for "an alternative to hosting the server."
The issue is thought to be the volume of players who've suddenly started to take an interest in the older server. It was intended to create a small community of players who play a classic version the game, however, this isn't possible. Gummy52 claimed that he's not ready to hand off the project to anyone else WOW WoTLK Classic Gold since an outcome of the attention the server has received, "the market to wrongfully make money from this kind of thing is way too lucrative for anyone to give it away on a whim."
